Waynesburg First Church of the Nazarene

We are a church that strives to be a family for all who attend.  We believe that faith is not about finding 'religion' but about forming a relationship with Jesus.  We seek after holiness - to be Christlike.  We are young and old, brand new believers and mature Christians...and we are all on the same journey together.  Our church is over 75 years old, but we are always willing to try new things.  Are you looking for a place where you will be accepted and welcomed? We would love to have you give this 'family' a try!

Covid-19 Update

An employee of the church has tested positive for Covid-19. The employee was last in the building on Thursday, November 12 and we have begun contact tracing. We have/will thoroughly disinfect all common surfaces. With that being said, we will still have in-person Sunday school and service this Sunday, November 15. While we are confident that the risk of surface-to-person transmission is minimal, in the spirit of openness we wanted to make you aware. If you are comfortable joining us this Sunday morning, please wear a mask and maintain social distancing guidelines. If you are not comfortable joining us in person, please join us live at 10:45 am on YouTube.

In-person Services

On Sundays,  We gather from 10:45 am - 12:00 pm in the sanctuary. Nursery care and Children's church are offered.

Prior to service, our Sunday school classes are offered from 9:45 am – 10:30 am. Our Sunday school class offerings include Harvesters, Legacy Builders, Heaven's Helpers, Young Adults, Youth, and Children.

On Sunday evenings, some of our small groups gather from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Our Sunday evening offerings include Articles of Faith Class, Youth Group, and Children.

On Wednesdays, some more of our small groups gather from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Our Wednesday offerings include Prayer Group, Ladies Bible Study, Youth, and Children's.

If you're uncomfortable returning just yet to ant or all of our offerings there is no need to feel guilty about staying home. If you're homebound, let us know how we can help and know that our Sunday morning services are "streamed" on our website, our Facebook account, and on our YouTube account every Sunday.

Social Distancing Protocols

  • If you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive and/or you’re experiencing symptoms of the virus or the general flu (fever, cough, congestion, body aches, sore throat, etc.), we ask that you follow the recommendation of the Center for Disease Control and stay home until your symptoms have subsided and/or you have been tested.
  • Hand Sanitizer will be available at each entry/exit. Please use hand sanitizer as you come in the building and as you leave the building.
  • We ask that you wear a mask to church until further notice. If you do not have a mask, we will have masks available at each entry.
  • We will prop open doors (where we can) so you don’t have to touch handles.
  • We will not pass the offering plates. There will be donation receptacles located at the entrance/exit to the sanctuary. We also encourage you to consider giving your offering online.
  • We ask that everyone entering the church follow a “no contact” policy. Please do not shake hands, hug, or touch others – smiles and conversations are welcome and encouraged.
  • Please strive to keep six feet of distance between yourself and non-family members in Sunday school classes, service, and during conversation.
  • Due to our need to spread out, we sectioned off every other pew. Please be understanding if your favorite pew is sectioned off.
